Welcome! We want to serve people, testify to them about Christ, and bring them into the fellowship of believers in our church. Everything else, including what is happing with us in our church congregation, is secondary to this. Faithful to the tenants of the Reformation, we are longing for the priesthood of all believers to lead a wide circle of people in our church congregation to spiritual responsibility, who would take over the management of various mission areas. We would like to share with you information about our church so that you could become a part of our mission endeavors.
We are a congregation of the Lutheran Church in Slovakia (ECAV) consisting of six villages, three church buildings, and about 520 members in Eastern Slovakia. Our main “headquarters”, including the parsonage and church building, are located in Obisovce, a small village of 400 people. Despite its small size, Obisovce is almost directly situated between eastern Slovakia’s two largest cities: Kosice (20km) and Presov (16km). One of our congregation’s villages, Kysak, is only one kilometer from Obisovce and is one of the country’s main railway stations between Bratislava and Kosice.
